It was a busy Sunday for crews at KFC! A steady flow of calls through the day kept members on their toes.
At 7:26am, Engine 4-5-2 was dispatched to 3385 Lincoln Hwy E. (Paradise Twp) for a medical assist with Amb 4-3-1. The ambulance needed help gaining access to the home of a patient, due to the heavy snowfall that occurred Saturday.
Later in the day just before lunch-time, Tanker 4-5 was dispatched to 3210 Lincoln Hwy E. (Paradise Twp) to assist station 4-7 with a dwelling fire. The tanker responded with a crew of 4 and was instructed to supply water to E4-7-2. Later Chief 4-7 (Wenger) upgraded the fire to 2nd Alarm and E4-5-2 & E4-5-1 were then dispatched. Engine 2 was directed to the scene and provided man-power at the staging area. Engine 1 was instructed to go to the fill site that was being set-up. After the incident was under control crews helped clean up and returned-available.
Finally at 19:33pm Engine 4-5-2 was called out to 3586 Lincoln Hwy E. for a gas leak. The residents had smelled a strong odor of an unknown source and had evacuated immediately from the home. Engine 2 arrived and was instructed to mask up and check the home with the gas meter. A special thanks to Chief 4-4 (Steve Diener) for coming to the scene to check the occupants propane tank. Crews returned available at 21:20pm
