Tue, Dec 27th, 2011 1:15:00 pm - On Tuesday - December 27, 2011 at 13:15pm Engine 4-5-2 was dispatched to the area of Route 30 & N. Vintage Road (Paradise Twp) for a vehicle accident with Entrapment. Additional received via LCWC was " minivan vs 4 door sedan - head on, unknown injuries"

The accident appeared to have occurred 100-150 yards E. of the intersection per county radio.

Engine 4-5-2 responded with a full crew and upon arrival began patient care, stabilization of both  vehicles (cribbing/strutting) & controlled traffic hazards from going through the scene. E4-5-2 assumed command. It was confirmed there was one confinement in the car & one entrapment in the minivan with a total of 3 pediatric occupants as well. Multiple BLS & ALS units were dispatched to the scene.

Rescue 4-7 arrived on scene and began extrication of the priority patient as directed by an EMT on scene. Rescue 4-2 was the 2nd due Rescue unit, and began extrication of the 2nd patient, who was the driver in the minivan.

Route 30 was completely shut down and traffic was diverted around the scene via fire police during the incident.

Once all patients were in care of EMS & PSP (PA State Police) completed their investigation, both units were removed via CJ's Towing.

A big thank you to all EMS, Fire Units & everyone else  who assisted on scene, your help was greatly appreciated.

KFC returned available at 14:18 and Route 30 was then opened.

**It was later learned that an occupant in the car (not shown) sucummed to his injuries at a local hospital. Our condolences go out to the family affected.**
